Absinthe Double jeu
With lenticular printing,
The ALLIANCE ETIQUETTES teams are proud to present the "Double jeu" Absinthe label which uses the lenticular printing technique.
This allows the label to be animated according to the angle of your eye, even on a bottle with rounded curves. Thanks to this method and the precision of its execution, it is now possible to give life to your packaging in an original and creative way. This new dimension offers a significant competitive edge in your market.
The improvement of a very old technique
Animating material has fascinated people for hundreds of years. The lenticular technique first appeared in the world of art, and more specifically in painting, thanks to the work of French painter Gaspar Antoine de Bois-Clair in 1692. Using an ingenious process combining painted facial features and wooden slats, he brought to life the portraits of Frederik IV and Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, the King and Queen of Denmark.
It was not until the work of the physicist Gabriel Lippmann at the end of the 19th century that this process was mechanised using microlenses on a photographic emulsion. He succeeded in obtaining a multi-dimensional effect, which won him the Nobel Prize in 1908.
The lenticular technique in the world of printing
Today, ALLIANCE ETIQUETTES uses the flip effect to reproduce this technique. A very precise line pattern made up of very fine lines that cut out an image makes it possible to animate a very special and flexible medium. To meet all our customers’ requirements, this substrate can be adhesive or non-adhesive.
To ensure a high-quality result, we use the best components, including an Ultra High Definition printing plate and a special HD anilox supplied by our partners. Printing is then carried out at our Bernétic site in Brittany, using a range of machines specialising in flexography. Bi-material printing, combining pewter and paper, is also possible after studying your project.
An original way to liven up your packaging
With a lenticular label, you can bring your packaging to life before the astonished eyes of consumers. This technique allows you to stand out from the competition, and so have a positive impact on the sales of your products.
This interactive packaging adds a new dimension to product storytelling and enhances the image of your brand.
To illustrate the advantages of lenticular, ALLIANCE ETIQUETTES and its packaging design agency Curiosity have come up with the label for Double jeu absinthe.
Plunge into the Victorian era with our Double Jeu absinthe
With the design of the Double jeu absinthe packaging, we are plunged back into the late 19th century among the dandies and artists who loved to indulge in this enchanting elixir. Nicknamed “The Green Fairy”, absinthe, a drink with a sulphurous reputation, saw its recipe modified in the 21st century to become a more respectable aniseed-flavoured aperitif.
The portrait of our 19th-century stranger here refers to the artists, poets and literature of the period, such as Oscar Wilde’s famous Portrait of Dorian Gray.
They all convey an image of creativity, artistic inspiration and intellectual effervescence, but sometimes hide a darker side, tinged with excess and madness. The lenticular technique reveals this dichotomy between two forms of expression:
Cantica, the song to God, joy and happiness, and Requiem, the song of death. The portrait of the handsome stranger is then marred, revealing his skull clutching a rose between his teeth. We thus discover the two states experienced when tasting absinthe. In order to break the codes and add contradiction to this product, this absinthe has been designed in an alcohol-free version. You don’t need to be an alcoholic to be inspired!
